Job Summary
Host and produce daily and special project video content using vMix, managing switching, editing, and uploading as a "one man band." Set up interviews, gather b-roll and visual elements, and prepare show rundowns or scripts. Develop vMix scene collections and collaborate with graphics teams to align production branding. Track show metrics to identify high-value formats and opportunities for new programming. Troubleshoot live on-stream challenges and behind-the-scenes technical issues while maintaining journalistic principles. Requires 3-5 years of video production experience, 2-3 years with vMix, and a physical presence in Portsmouth, VA.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in video production
- extensive on-camera experience
- proven technical problem-solving skills
- 2-3 years of experience working with vMix or similar streaming software
- Solid foundation in journalism ethics
- High level attention to detail
- Basic understanding of camera settings
- Basic understanding of studio lighting
- Basic understanding of audio processing
- The position is based in Portsmouth, VA
- requires a physical presence to function in the role
- No telecommuting
