Job Summary
Vivarium/ Animal Care Technician performs daily husbandry of laboratory rodents (mice and rats), maintains accurate records, cleans and maintains vivarium facilities, and ensures compliance with IACUC, institutional, and safety protocols. The role requires following SOPs, working both independently and with internal/external teams, and supporting multiple projects while accommodating a rotational weekly-off schedule including mandatory weekend work.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- 1–2 years of experience in laboratory animal care (rodents required)
- IACUC or institutional animal care training (or willingness to complete training)
- Experience working in an academic or research vivarium.
- Familiarity with basic animal health indicators.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
