Job Summary
Manage the Vitamin Department by ensuring excellent customer service through prompt, knowledgeable guidance on supplements and related products. Maintain in-depth product knowledge to provide accurate information on vitamins, health, and beauty items while ordering products and controlling inventory to avoid stockouts. Oversee sales and promotional events, achieving required goals through proper merchandising and frequent evaluation of sales reports and market trends. Collaborate with the Buyer and Store Manager to determine inventory levels and recruit, hire, and make promotion/transfer decisions. Lead the team by coaching members, conducting bi-annual performance reviews, and addressing concerns with corrective actions as needed. Create and adjust schedules to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency while communicating standards and policy changes. Serve as a Key Carrier or Manager on Duty as required.
Required Qualifications
- At least 18 years of age
- Minimum of 1 year of vitamin, homeopathy, or holistic experience
- Leadership experience
- Good communication skills
- Ability to give and take direction
- Ability to perform general housekeeping in the department
- Ability to clean and dust
- Willingness to gain education on new products and alternative health
- Strong organization and prioritization skills
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb throughout the entire work day
- Ability to lift, stack, and maneuver heavy objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to move a ladder to access product requiring a force up to 5 lbs.
- Ability to maneuver a utility cart holding 20 lbs requiring a force up to 35 lbs.
- Ability to use a pallet jack to move pallets requiring a force of up to 85 pounds
- Ability to maneuver six wheel carts requiring a force up to 35 lbs.
- Ability to walk a total of up to 5 miles in an 8 hour shift
- Food Handlers permit
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Working knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, weekly sales numbers, and financial goals
- Outgoing and friendly behavior
- Positive attitude towards Team Members and customers
