Job Summary
Manage the Vitamin Department by ensuring excellent customer service through prompt, knowledgeable guidance on supplements and related products. Maintain in-depth product knowledge, order inventory, and oversee sales and promotional events to achieve required sales, margin, expense, and labor goals. Collaborate with the Buyer and Store Manager to evaluate sales reports and market trends for inventory adjustments, while recruiting, hiring, and coaching team members. Create and adjust staffing schedules to ensure maximum productivity, document corrective actions for performance issues, and serve as a Manager on Duty as needed. Perform general housekeeping, adhere to safety regulations, and execute physical tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs and operating utility carts and pallet jacks. Work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays, and maintain a Food Handlers permit.
Required Qualifications
- At least 18 years of age
- Minimum of 1 year of vitamin, homeopathy, or holistic experience
- Leadership experience
- Good communication skills
- Ability to give and take direction
- Ability to perform general housekeeping in the department; clean and dust
- Willingness to gain education on new products and alternative health
- Strong organization and prioritization skills
- Ability to stand, walk, bending, climbing throughout the entire work day
- Ability to lift, stack and maneuver heavy objects weighing up to 50 lbs., from 4" to 72", for a distance up 2 feet without mechanical assistance
- Ability to move a ladder to access product requiring a force up to 5 lbs., up to 2 hours, for a distance up to 25 feet
- Ability to maneuver a utility cart holding 20 lbs. requiring a force up to 35 lbs., up to 2 hours, a distance up to 20 feet
- Ability to perform other related duties as assigned
- Ability to use a pallet jack to move pallets a distance up to 20 feet, requiring a force of up to 85 pounds for up to 5 hours
- Ability to maneuver six wheel carts requiring a force up to 35 lbs., up to 2 hours, a distance up to 20 feet
- Ability to walk a total up to 5 miles in an 8 hour shift
- Food Handlers permit
- Ability to work a flexible schedule that changes as the business changes, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Working knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, weekly sales numbers, and financial goals
