Job Summary
As a Software Test Engineer for Leidos' High Fidelity Simulation portfolio, you will oversee the definition, design, and execution of comprehensive test strategies for our visual simulation software product line used in Navy training. You will collaborate with developers to identify, report, and troubleshoot bugs, contribute to automated testing framework initiatives, develop test plans and procedures with traceability to system requirements, and generate test reports. You will travel to integration/testing sites and fielded trainer locations to support installation, testing, and training events (estimated travel: 10%). The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or CS (or equivalent experience), 5+ years of software testing experience, experience with Agile and Waterfall, proficiency with Linux/Windows, and strong QA knowledge. Desired experience includes Jira, Confluence, GitLab, Xray, Jenkins, containerized test environments, automated regression runs, and ISTQB/ASTQB cert. The position is 100% on-site in Bethesda, MD, with travel locations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or Computer Science, or experience in lieu of a degree
- U.S. Citizenship and eligibility for a U.S. Government granted security clearance
- Interim Secret security clearance required to begin employment
- At least 5 years of experience in software testing
- Experience testing in Agile and Waterfall methodologies
- Comfortable working in Linux and/or Windows environments
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Proactive mindset with the ability to influence complex projects and products
- Strong knowledge of QA methodologies: automated/manual testing, system, regression, UAT
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, GitLab, and Xray (Desired)
- Experience with automated testing tools (Desired)
- Experience with Jenkins pipelines, containerized test environments, and automated regression runs (Desired)
- ISTQB/ASTQB certificate (Desirable)
