Job Summary
Visual Merchandising and Retail Supervisor responsible for managing Retail staff, scheduling, ensuring guest services quality, enforcing museum policies, assisting with ticket sales, and driving sales through visual merchandising. Must lead by example in a museum retail environment, coordinate with management via two-way radios, and maintain safety and cleanliness across zones while delivering superior guest service. Requires ability to work varied hours including weekends and holidays; physical ability to stand long periods, lift up to 25 pounds, and operate in potentially extreme weather. Prior experience in museums, zoos, amusement parks, or tourist-centric merchandise is a plus; strong communication and leadership skills essential.
Required Qualifications
- Applicants must be 18 years of age or older
- Ability to provide guidance and supervision to staff members
- Ability to communicate effectively with public, customers, and staff members
- Ability to utilize visual merchandising to generate sales
- Experience in museums, zoos, amusement parks, or tourist centric merchandise and retail operations a plus.
- Be aware, attentive, and work well with others
- Energy and enthusiasm for long days
- Ability to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays to meet business needs
- Approachable and outgoing
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
- Must be able to lift, carry, move, and/or position items weighing up to or in excess of 25 pounds.
