Job Summary
Conduct visual merchandising planning and execution across boutiques, windows, and event spaces in Japan, adhering to Paris-based guidelines. Perform regular store visits to audit displays, product placement, lighting, and fixtures, ensuring a consistent luxury customer experience. Execute window displays, interior layouts, and prop setup during new collection launches and events, while providing styling and zoning proposals to maximize product appeal. Train retail staff on display intent and key messaging points to enhance store consistency. Work a schedule including bi-monthly late-night shifts for window changes and occasional domestic travel. Report to the VM Manager within the VM Studio team.
Required Qualifications
- Fashion, luxury, designer brands, or department store/specialty store VMD practical experience of 3-5 years
- Experience understanding global guidelines and executing/improving VMD adapted to store environments
- Practical experience with window display, in-store layout, props, fixtures, and lighting for spatial presentation
- Experience training store staff on VMD or collaborating with store staff to improve environments
- Business-level Japanese language ability
- Business-level English ability (level capable of email, document review, and meeting correspondence with Paris team)
- Skills in creating reports, VMD instruction sheets, and proposal materials using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to work late nights 1-2 days every two months (for window display changes and event setup)
- Domestic travel of 1-2 times per month
Desired Qualifications
- Experience using design and spatial expression tools such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or SketchUp
