Job Summary
Create imaginative, eye-catching displays of merchandise to attract customers and drive sales using design concepts, color schemes, lighting, and props. Partner with the Staging team and management to develop themes, implement seasonal presentations, and maintain brand standards throughout the store. Research needs to generate design ideas, ensure new merchandise is displayed immediately upon receipt, and actively participate in annual inventory scans. Work independently to identify and solve store-specific visual challenges while maintaining a clean, safe environment. Requires lifting 50 lbs, standing for 8 hours, and working flexible schedules including evenings and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Interior design education
- 2-5 years of visual merchandising experience
- Ability to work a flexible schedule that meets the business needs, including evenings, weekends and holidays
- Ability to learn, understand, and apply new technologies including but not limited to Storis, ipads, Excel, Word, etc.
- Commitment to AFW's safety policies and procedures and ability to promote safety awareness
- Excellent eye for detail
- Ability to utilize basic design concepts to enhance showroom presentation
- Ability to understand and interpret AFW visual merchandising tools and direction
- Ability to offer solutions to store specific visual and merchandising challenges using brand standards
- Ability to efficiently work independent of direct supervision
- Requires the ability to maneuver in confined and at times congested areas
- Requires the ability to stand, walk, stoop, & bend for 8 hours a day
- Requires constant use of arms, hands, fingers, eyes, legs, and back
- Requires lift, lower, push and pull merchandise and display props of 50 Lbs
- The Show Floor Visual Designer position requires lifting, bending, kneeling, stooping and moving display props and accessories
- A pre-employment drug screen and pre-employment background check must be passed upon job offer
