Job Summary
Connect with visitors from diverse backgrounds to ensure high-quality customer service throughout their visit. Address complaints and provide prompt service recovery in a calm, professional manner while rotating between designated posts in the River Journey and Ocean Journey buildings. Direct visitor flow, alleviate crowds, and monitor elevators and escalators to ensure smooth operations. Monitor animal and visitor safety at touch tanks by squeegeeing, communicating rules, and responding quickly to incidents. Communicate professionally via two-way radio and address large groups using a microphone. Uphold safety protocols, assist during emergencies, and report safety concerns to appropriate individuals.
Required Qualifications
- Exceptional customer service and recovery skills
- Ability to perform job duties under pressure
- Positive attitude with visitors and co-workers at all times
- Ability to address large groups of people at one time
- Ability to work well in a team
- Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time
- Ability to alternate between cold, hot, and/or wet conditions
- Ability to perform frequent and/or repetitive physical activities
- Part-time, hourly ($16/hour); holidays, weekends, and evening shifts are required
