Job Summary
Lead and assist the Visitor Services team under the Visitor Services Manager to deliver frontline customer service and ticketing for the Garden's 250,000 annual visitors. Serve as lead staff when the Manager is unavailable, overseeing guest relations, scheduling coverage (onsite sales, phone coverage, evening events), and staff training. Collaborate with Membership to convert visitors to members and with Community Relations and Visitor Experience teams to ensure a quality guest experience. Help define policies and procedures for Visitor Services, manage cash handling and deposits with PCI/PII compliance, utilize POS system features, troubleshoot software, and supervise volunteer staff. Role requires comfort around dogs on dog admission days and a flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays. Strong communication skills in English; fluency in Spanish and/or Kreyol is a plus.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years customer service, retail, or fundraising experience is preferred
- Supervisory or team management experience is preferred
- Cash handling experience and the ability to operate a POS cash register
- Good computer skills including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), and use of web browsers
- Fluency in Spanish and/or Kreyol is a plus
- Pre-Employment background check required
- Weekends, nights, and holidays are required. Flexible schedule is a must
- May stand for long periods of time, bending and kneeling; Work indoors and outdoors; Lift and carry objects up to 10 pounds; Have reliable transportation
- Gardening or Arts and Culture experience helpful but not required
