Job Summary
Screen visitors and their personal items for prohibited items using handheld magnetometers, x-ray machines, and visual inspections. Provide general information, directions, and assistance to visitors while maintaining knowledge of Arlington National Cemetery protocols. This stationary role requires constant standing outdoors in all weather conditions. Applicants must possess a high school diploma, two years of screening experience, and valid motor vehicle licenses. Security clearance of Public Trust or Secret is required. Fluency in English and excellent customer service skills are essential. Includes an additional $5.09 per hour for health and welfare benefits under the McNamara-O'Hara Service Contract Act.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two years of work experience in visitor screening operations
- Equivalent work experience including duties such as searching bags/luggage, processing large groups of visitors, and operating applicable sensing equipment
- Public Trust or Secret security clearance
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language with sufficient fluency
- Required state motor vehicle licenses or certifications for operating equipment and vehicles
- Ability to work outdoors and function in all types of weather
- Constant standing capability
- Excellent customer service via phone and face to face conversation
- Excellent written and oral command of English
