Job Summary
Proactively greet and engage visitors, provide wayfinding, and assist with admissions, programming tickets, memberships, and New Museum Store sales. Monitor visitor flow, respond to inquiries in person and on the phone, and process cash and credit card transactions with precision. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of exhibitions, policies, and promotions while managing store inventory, visual merchandising, and daily maintenance. Support special events, pop-ups, and offsite projects alongside administrative reception duties. Work weekends, evenings, and holidays as a part-time union position with 22-24 hours weekly.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience interacting with the public in a museum, gallery, retail, hospitality or cultural institution
- Attention to detail

- The ability to complete assigned tasks
- Familiarity and comfort with computers and technology
- Ability to occasionally lift 25-pound boxes
- Physical activity in the lobby, Store and storage areas
