Job Summary
Provide an exceptional guest experience at the International African American Museum, guiding visitors from arrival to departure, assisting with admissions, galleries, and the Memorial Garden, handling POS for ticketing, café, and Museum Store purchases, and supporting events and store operations. Role involves working in indoor/outdoor spaces, coupling strong customer service with cash handling, basic computer skills, and collaboration with staff across departments. Hours are 9 a.m.–5 p.m., Monday through Saturday, up to 24 hours per week, with part-time scheduling. Fluency in another language is a plus.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in visitor services, hospitality, attractions, museums, or similar environments preferred
- Strong customer service skills, including service recovery and crowd engagement
- Experience with POS, ticketing, or reservation systems preferred
- Excellent verbal, written, and listening communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with the public, staff, and volunteers
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer/typing skills
- Dependability and reliable transportation
- Ability to multitask, problem-solve, and stay organized
- Team-oriented mindset and a customer-focused approach
- Fluency in another language is a plus
