Job Summary

Teach four courses per semester in Spanish and French, focusing on beginning and intermediate levels while applying latest L2 pedagogy and task-based activities to support the Language, Culture, and Business major. Coordinate course offerings and fulfill departmental service roles alongside teaching. Submit a teaching statement detailing inclusive classroom strategies and provide a cover letter highlighting specific interest in the Modern Languages department. Apply by September 20 for a one-semester position with potential renewal, reporting to the Chair of the Modern Languages Department.

Required Qualifications

  • commitment to world language teaching
  • native or near-native fluency in Spanish and French
  • master's degree in French or Spanish
  • minimum of two years of university-level teaching experience
  • deep commitment to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level
  • native or near-native proficiency in Spanish, French, and English
  • willingness to teach in any of those languages (Spanish, French, or English)

Desired Qualifications

  • commitment to innovative language and culture teaching practices
  • main focus is language pedagogy or a closely related field
  • ability to teach Spanish and French
  • proven effective teaching of both languages at all levels, especially beginning and intermediate
  • emphasis applying the latest methods and practices in L2 pedagogy, Heritage Learners, and SLA (such as task-based activities)
