Job Summary

Design and conduct research within a specified field while receiving advanced training from a designated Principal Investigator to enhance professional skills and research independence. Assist with the growth and sustainability of the clinical research program focused on sickle cell disease by supporting study execution, regulatory compliance, data management, and scholarly productivity. Develop new ideas that promote current research and prepare and publish scientific manuscripts under the direction of the Principal Investigator. May teach techniques to others and supervise research staff. This one-year temporary appointment requires in-person work at an Emory University location and renewal is expected if progress is satisfactory and funds are available.

Required Qualifications

  • A doctoral degree or equivalent (Ph.D., M.D., ScD., D.V.M., DDS etc) in an appropriate field
  • Excellent scientific writing ability
  • Strong oral communication skills
  • The ability to work effectively and collegially with colleagues
  • Positions are temporary appointments as a research trainee
  • The initial appointment is for one year
  • Appointments cannot exceed five years
  • Position tasks are required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location
