Job Summary
Visiting non-tenure teaching-track position in Park University’s Athletics and Exercise Science departments. Responsibilities include teaching 15-18 S&C-focused credit hours, directing CASCE student practicums, coordinating 6-9 credit hours of course release for collaboration with Park Athletics to strengthen the S&C program, and contributing to athletics as part of a sports performance team that oversees graduate student strength & conditioning coaches. Responsibilities also include coaching student-athletes alongside practicum mentorship for EXS undergraduates, promoting athletic program objectives, ensuring compliance with departmental, university, conference, and NAIA rules, and participating in athletic staff meetings to enhance collaboration. The role requires later collaboration with athletic training staff for safety, planning and delivering preseason and in-season training, and maintaining the safety and welfare of student-athletes. Qualifications include a Master’s Degree in Exercise Science or related field with advanced coursework in exercise physiology and S&C, 2+ years collegiate S&C experience (or 3+ years professional experience in S&C), NSCA CSCS, USAW Level 1 (or ability to obtain), NSCA membership, First Aid & CPR, strong communication and management abilities, and the ability to balance workload between academics and athletics. Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Exercise Science (or related field) with advanced coursework related to exercise physiology and Strength & Conditioning
- Strong desire to teach strength & conditioning courses and mentor students
- No less than 2 years of experience in Collegiate Strength & Conditioning OR no less than 3 years of professional experience in Strength & Conditioning in another setting
- Current NSCA CSCS certification
- Current USAW Level 1 certification or ability to attain before start date
- Current NSCA membership (preferred)
- First Aid & CPR certification
- Strong interpersonal skills in classroom, weight room, and athletics staff interactions
- Ability to plan, prioritize, and manage complex inter-departmental tasks
- Ability to balance workload between academics and athletics per contracted workload calculations
- Ability to implement new technologies and proven methods within S&C and teaching
- Must pass Park University background check and achieve certification to transport students
