Vision Engineer

Job Summary
Conduct technical and compliance support for pharmaceutical manufacturing and packaging operations utilizing vision systems. Lead and assist in the development, implementation, and completion of vision system and automation projects across multiple sites while managing capital and expense projects within agreed timelines and budgets. Troubleshoot issues affecting machine performance, respond to emergencies, and design new features to enhance operability, efficiency, and safety. Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, operations, and IT to ensure FDA cGMP compliance during equipment qualification and validation, and participate in change management to evaluate impacts on control systems. Identify opportunities to reduce downtime and improve production processes through detection capabilities and new technology implementation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline
- 3 or more years of working with and troubleshooting Visions Systems
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD software, and the ability to read and understand drawings, flowcharts, schematics, as it relates to system design documentation
- Experience with computer system validation and change management in an FDA regulated environment
- Experience and familiarity with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
- Excellent problem-solving skills, sound decision making abilities, and ability to meet deadlines in a team-oriented environment
- Demonstrated self-confidence and ability to interface with multiple departments, consultants, and contractors
- Flexible schedule with normal working hours of 7am – 4pm
Desired Qualifications
- Demonstrated understanding of Lean and Six Sigma processes preferred, including experience with the different continuous improvement techniques
- Prior electrical troubleshooting skills preferred
- Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting preferred
