Job Summary
Technical manager leading a cross-functional IT team of 6-7 to design, deploy, and maintain VMware environment; responsible for ESXi/vCenter/vSAN, networking, disaster recovery, SOPs, and collaboration with vendors; requires BS or MS with relevant experience and DoD 8140/8570 certifications; strong project management and communication skills; responsibilities include directing daily tasking, coordinating schedules, providing technical escalation, implementing and maintaining VMware infrastructure across multiple sites, and evaluating new VMware technologies to improve performance and efficiency. Desired: VMware Horizon for VDI; automation with Ansible/PowerCLI; familiarity with USCENTCOM IT environment.
Required Qualifications
- BS degree in a related field OR MS with several years of experience (per posting)
- 8+ years of prior relevant experience with option for Masters + 6+ years
- DoD 8140 or DoD 8570 certification required
- Strong proficiency in managing and troubleshooting VMware vSphere infrastructure (ESXi, vCenter, vSAN, vSphere Networking)
- Experience in leading an operational IT team and coordinating daily tasks, schedules, and deliverables
- Excellent communication and project management skills
- VMware technologies including ESXi, vCenter Server, vSAN, and vSphere Networking
- Desired VMware Horizon (VDI) experience
- Familiarity with automation tools such as Ansible or PowerCLI
- Security policies and SOPs compliance
- Background in backup and disaster recovery implementations
- Knowledge of cross-functional collaboration with vendors and leadership
