Virtualization Engineer (VMWare)

Job Summary
Design and engineer the VMware operating environment, tuning and enhancing performance, and migrating workloads from legacy environments. Responsibilities include installation, configuration, and testing of high availability and disaster recovery solutions, as well as providing Level-3 support and coordinating with application and technology teams. Ideal candidates will have extensive VMware experience, knowledge of Windows, Storage, and Network technologies, and strong communication skills. This position requires the ability to work independently and support a 24/7 environment.
Required Qualifications
- Five or more years progressively responsible for the design and implementation of VMware farms ranging from versions 5.0 and up
- Knowledge of basic Windows/Networking technologies (AD, DNS, etc.)
- Knowledge of basic Storage technology as it relates to virtualization
- Knowledge of basic Network technology as it relates to virtualization
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently, with strong organizational and flexibility skills in a team-oriented environment
- Must be willing to provide support in a 7 X 24 environment
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with VMware VCenter Orchestrator
- Experience working with VMware Vrealize Automation
- Experience working with VMware Vrealize Operations
- Experience working with VMware View and its components
- Experience working with VMware NSX or other types of network virtualization
- Experience working with Nutanix
- Experience working with other hypervisors
- Experience working with HP/Cisco Blade technology
- Experience working with VBlock and other converged systems
- Experience working with Xen Desktop
- Experience working with HP OpenView Suite/Prod
- Experience working with the Service Now management platform
- Experience working on Data Center Migration Projects
- Experience working on Application/Platform Migration Projects
