Job Summary
Supervise children virtually and ensure student safety by following all health and safety guidelines while assisting the classroom teacher to include students in all aspects of the school day. Implement academic, social, and behavioral programming as developed by the team, including accommodations outlined on IEPs and individual remote learning schedules. Troubleshoot hardware or connectivity issues, log students into remote classes, and partner with parents and teachers to understand each child's needs. Perform administrative, record-keeping, and instructional support duties, carry out prescribed activities, and serve as a positive adult role model. Work Monday through Friday from 9:45am to 2:30pm in the Edinboro office with fluctuating hours between 10 and 29.5 weeks.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Demonstrable proficiency in computer skills including the ability to work with multiple types of devices, peripheral accessories and software programs (i.e., Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Classroom, etc.)
- Must follow all appropriate telework/virtual teaching guidelines and procedures as identified
- Must have reliable and adequate internet connectivity at home should the position require the employee to work remotely
- Must be flexible and able to tolerate many situations and personalities
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
- Strong technology skills for supporting the use of online educational tools and applications
- Written language, technology skill, and interpersonal communication skill to support communication among team members, with community contacts, school staff and families
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills
- Must be able to sit at a desk for extended periods of time
