Job Summary
Assess and care for patients via video conferencing to complete virtual nursing rounds from the Virtual Command Center. Provide health assessments, treatment solutions, and follow-up while creating, implementing, and monitoring care plans in collaboration with interprofessional teams. Prioritize patient needs, advocate for clinical and ethical concerns, and anticipate emergent situations such as Rapid Response or emergency codes. Coach and mentor department staff, oversee student preceptorships, and lead unit and shared governance activities to improve quality and safety scores. Document all encounters in the Electronic Medical Record and contribute to service line standards and hospital-wide education initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Experience as a Registered Nurse
- Valid RN License from Virginia or reciprocal compact state
- BSN
- Three (3) years acute care nursing experience
- AHA BLS Provider CPR
- Computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to present information clearly and professionally
- Proficient with Windows-style applications
- Ability to lift 35 lbs
- Ability to push and pull 20 lbs
- Auditory and visual skills to include color determination
- Ability to work in confined spaces
- Ability to reach above/overhead
- Critical thinking and analytical skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team
- Capacity to cope with difficult situations
- Ability to tolerate irregular hours including evenings, nights, and weekends
- Annual flu vaccine
Desired Qualifications
- American Nursing Credentialing Center (ANCC)-recognized certification in applicable specialty area
