Job Summary
Manage inbound and outbound phone calls, triage messages, and check voicemails for an ophthalmology practice. Schedule new and recurring appointments, coordinate specialized surgeries, and process medical referrals via fax. Conduct insurance verification, process prior authorizations, and securely collect patient payments. Sort emails and process faxes while providing real-time updates to the in-clinic team regarding scheduling changes. Requires minimum one year of US-based medical clinic experience, exceptional verbal and written English, and a dedicated home office with dual monitors. Must complete HIPAA compliance certification prior to Day 1.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of professional experience supporting a US-based medical clinic
- Exceptional verbal and written English communication skills
- Ability to speak clearly, confidently, and loudly enough to comfortably communicate with an elderly patient base
- High level of proactivity
- Transparency
- Strong sense of accountability
- Proven ability to work independently under minimal supervision
- Must successfully complete a company-sponsored HIPAA compliance certification prior to Day 1
- 30 hours per week
- Ability to expand to 40-hours as clinic needs grow
- Dedicated, quiet, and secure home office space free from distractions
- Updated computer systems capable of running remote desktop protocols seamlessly without lag or latency
