Job Summary
Instruct students in subject matter, utilizing various teaching methods such as lecture, demonstration, technology, and other materials to supplement instructional content. Promote student engagement by continually assessing abilities against desired educational goals while mentoring assigned mentees and documenting their performance. Manage learner behavior to ensure a conducive learning environment and maintain accurate grade and attendance records. Effectively communicate with parents regarding student progress and behavior, and participate virtually in faculty meetings and professional learning to implement best practices. Complete the Online Teaching Orientation Course in Canvas and comply with all FERPA requirements. This role requires availability from 4:00pm to 9:00pm and is pending board approval.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or higher with valid Georgia teaching certificate
- Certified to teach GAA classes
- Highly qualified / certified in High School Math
- Highly qualified to teach class assigned as defined by the Georgia PSC
- Ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders in the virtual instruction program in written and oral form, including electronic media, using positive interpersonal skills
- Must complete Online Teaching Orientation Course in Canvas
- Availability from 4:00pm – 9:00pm
Desired Qualifications
- High school experience
- Understanding of GSE
- Experience with a virtual learning environment
- Knowledge of instructional best practices for online learning
