Job Summary
Serve as the teacher of record for Virtual 9th-12th ELA in an online public school setting, delivering highly effective live lessons via web conference, and managing courses within the LMS. Responsibilities include completing course setup, monitoring asynchronous progress, providing daily feedback/grades, maintaining contact with each student, collaborating with the Principal on Progress Reports, and using data to adjust instructional programming. The role emphasizes differentiated, culturally responsive instruction, integrating 21st-century technology, fostering a joyful and inclusive classroom culture, communicating regularly with families about academic and social-emotional growth, planning non-instructional activities and events, and traveling to support required face-to-face state testing annually. Requires current Ohio teaching license in the applicable content area, knowledge of state standards/Common Core, strong communication skills, ability to stand for extended periods, and the ability to pass background checks. Travel to support in-person state testing is expected a few times per year.
Required Qualifications
- Current Ohio teaching license in appropriate content area
- Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook) and technology
- Experience delivering live instruction via web conferencing
- Experience differentiating instruction to meet diverse learner needs
