Job Summary
Lead long-range planning and implementation for Priority Waters initiatives across the Upper James, Shenandoah, Grayson Highlands, and Blue Ridge watersheds. Develop and execute strategies for landscape-scale conservation partnerships, coordinate watershed-scale plans integrating restoration and science, and manage a staff of 2-4 employees. Identify and develop strategies to diversify program funding sources, draft grant proposals, and manage an annual budget for projects in Virginia. Manage multiple conservation projects simultaneously while overseeing contractor compliance and safety procedures. Provide leadership to staff, partners, and agency officials to advance support for wild trout watersheds. This role requires frequent local and occasional overnight travel. The position is based remotely but ideally within one hour of a TU Virginia Priority Waters.
