Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive on-site inspections of high-value residential properties throughout Virginia, capturing detailed measurements, photographs, and site observations to document custom construction features and unique architectural elements. Professionally interact with homeowners and insurance agents via phone, email, and in-person to identify underwriting concerns, hazards, and loss exposures while developing accurate replacement cost estimates. Submit complete, timely web-based reports to Loss Control 360 adhering to carrier-specific guidelines. This independent contractor role requires strong construction knowledge, sketching skills, and proficiency with diagramming software like Rapid Sketch or Xactimate.
Required Qualifications
- Must have smartphone, tablet and personal computer
- A late model reliable vehicle and Auto and General Liability Insurance
- High speed internet
- Digital Camera or Smart phone with 16mp camera or greater
- measuring devices such as: laser, soft tape measure, or measuring wheel
Desired Qualifications
- Prior underwriting experience desirable
- Prior inspection experience on residential homes desirable
- Loss control experience desirable
- Construction experience desired, but not required
- BA or BS degree desired, but not required
- Experience in insurance adjusting, construction management, real estate appraisal, or luxury home building is highly valued
