Job Summary
Teach engaging, personalized private violin and viola lessons to students of varying ages and skill levels in a dedicated studio environment. Create a positive, encouraging atmosphere while helping students grow musically, prepare for recitals, and inspire participation in performance opportunities. Communicate timely and professionally with students, parents, and staff, and maintain accurate attendance and lesson records using the digital scheduling system. This role requires one weeknight from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM or a recurring 4-hour Saturday block. Candidates need at least two years of college-level music training, five years of teaching or professional performance experience, or an equivalent combination. A bachelor's degree in music education, performance, or a related field is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- A strong musical background demonstrated by at least 2 years of college-level music training, 5 years of teaching or professional performance experience, or an equivalent combination
- Ability to successfully complete an initial background check, as well as recurring background checks every three years as a condition of employment
- Availability: One weeknight from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM or one recurring 4-hour block on Saturdays
Desired Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in music education, performance, or a related field is preferred; candidates currently working toward a degree are also encouraged to apply
- Experience working with a variety of learners of all ages and skill levels is preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including professional and timely email communication
- Confidence and effectiveness in delivering one-on-one instruction
- Excellent organization and time management
- Comfortability using a digital scheduling system
- Warm, energetic, and professional presence that reflects our culture and mission
- Patience, flexibility, and the ability to connect with students of all ages and skill levels
