Job Summary
Oversee daily vineyard operations across South Coast Winery and Carter Estate, managing tasks from vine health monitoring and irrigation to pruning, thinning, and harvest coordination. Assess grape maturity with the Winemaker to determine optimal harvest timing while supervising crews of up to 25 employees. Maintain machinery, manage operating budgets, and ensure compliance with OSHA, pesticide regulations, and sustainable farming standards. Foster team culture through coaching and safety promotion. This role requires a Bachelor's degree in Viticulture or related fields, 3–5 years of vineyard management experience, and bilingual English/Spanish proficiency. Valid driver's license and ability to work outdoors in varying conditions are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Viticulture, Horticulture, Agricultural Science, or a related field
- 3–5 years of vineyard management or related agricultural leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of viticulture practices, vineyard equipment, irrigation systems, pest management, and grape production
- Experience supervising and developing vineyard crews
- Valid driver's license with a clean DMV record
- Able to walk steep vineyard terrain and lift up to 50 pounds
