Vineyard and Truck Maintenance Mechanic

Job Summary
Conduct maintenance and repair on the vehicle fleet and vineyard equipment for approximately 830 acres of vineyards, completing work orders based on priorities and business needs. Perform BIT inspections on all vehicles under DOT regulations and inspect equipment requiring major repairs or overhaul, notifying management of findings and making recommendations. Travel to ranches in Hopland and Ukiah to provide mechanical support, load and transport farming equipment, and troubleshoot problems reported by operators. Perform minor and routine repairs including welding, cutting, fabrication, hydraulics, and electrical wiring while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5+ years experience in vehicle/heavy truck/vineyard equipment maintenance
- Valid Driver's License with clean DMV record, Class C
- Will require certifications to operate specific equipment, machinery and/or plant vehicles
- Must be able to follow directions
- Basic computer skills required for operation of time clock, work order system, research, email and related tasks
- Requires reading and writing in English and basic math abilities
- Must be able to communicate effectively with coworkers and supervision
- Requires pre-employment physical
- 5-day/8-hour per day position, Monday – Friday 7:00 am to 3:30 pm
- Will require occasional overtime and weekend work during harvest and as needed
- May also require call ins and call backs in the case of emergencies
- Requires successful completion of criminal background, DMV check, and drug screen
- A pre-employment physical is required
- You will be required to submit verification of your citizenship or legal right to work in the United States at the time of an offer of employment
- Ability to lift and carry and push/pull up to 50 lbs. on a frequent basis and 51 to 100 lbs. on an occasional basis
- Requires ability to constantly walk and stand
- Frequently climb, crawl, squat, kneel and bend, reach outward and upward
- Occasionally sit, and occasionally work at a computer
- Requires constant hand and finger dexterity
- Requires visual acuity and the ability to distinguish colors
- Requires PPE such as safety toe footwear, hearing protection, safety glasses, HiVis Safety Vest, gloves and hard hat
Desired Qualifications
- Valid Class A license preferred
- Trade school or apprenticeship program in maintenance preferred
- ASE certification a plus
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills a plus
