Job Summary
Village Care Attendant at New Horizons, Inc. (Unionville, CT) provides essential personal care assistance to tenants with physical disabilities during the 2nd shift (3:00 PM–11:00 PM) and contributes to a compassionate, mission-driven nonprofit environment. Responsibilities include assisting tenants in daily living, recordkeeping for calls, and participating in facility emergency procedures. The role requires experience in human services caregiving, confidential handling of tenant information, and the ability to lift up to 51 pounds with knowledge of hoist equipment. CNA or HHA is preferred; CPR and First Aid certification is required or must be obtained within the first 6 months of employment. Required Qualifications
- CNA or HHA preferred
- CPR and First Aid Certification required or must be obtained within first 6 months of employment
- Experience with responsible care-giving skills in Human Services Field
- Ability to keep tenant information confidential at all times
- Team oriented with good communication skills
- Dependable and reliable
- Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm
- Must be able to push, pull, and do heavy lifting up to 51 pounds
- Working knowledge of hoist equipment
- Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and every other weekend 3pm-11pm
- Providing essential personal care assistance to tenants with physical disabilities in the absence of their PCA and in cases of emergencies
- Recordkeeping for all calls that are responded to
- Carrying out facility emergency procedures
