Job Summary
Conduct video production, editing, and research across Semafor's coverage verticals including geopolitics, climate change, and technology. Collaborate with reporters to transform stories into social video scripts while managing administrative tasks and logistical support for the newsroom. Stay current on broad news issues to identify topics for strong social video and assist on-site or virtually during live events to ensure timely clip publication. Work with editors and other producers to maintain a continuous news cycle. Complete an editing and writing exercise as part of the interview process.
Required Qualifications
- A strong passion for quality video production and business journalism
- A passion for world events and issues and a broad interest in a wide range of subjects
- A willingness to take on a variety of tasks and responsibilities
- A Strong understanding and experience working in Adobe, specifically Premiere Pro and After Effects
- An understanding of various video platforms and the type of video that audiences expect to consume
- The position will be in our NYC offices
- Candidates will be asked to complete an editing and writing exercise as part of the interview process
- must retain the right to work where they live
