Job Summary
Victim Support Specialist provides victim advocacy and direct case management to clients utilizing emergency shelter and housing services in Northeast Iowa (Region 3). Responsibilities include crisis intervention, building life skills, trauma-informed care, developing housing options, and fostering partnerships with hotels, landlords, housing programs, and community partners. Travel within the service area for in-person advocacy and training, with data/documentation duties and representation at community meetings. Emphasizes Housing First philosophy, client-centered approaches, equity and inclusion, and ongoing collaboration to end homelessness through strong community partnerships.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in social work, psychology, related field OR combination of equivalent education and experience
- Ability to pass state, federal, and child abuse background checks
- Previous experience in victim services, crisis intervention, housing programming, and/or case management (preferred)
