Job Summary
Victim Assistant (Spanish Speaking) is a full-time grant-funded contract role in Provo City. Responsibilities include assisting and supporting victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and other violent crimes; collecting information and helping victims complete reports and protection orders; advising on available resources and coordinating services across agencies to enhance safety and accountability; assisting victims and children through court procedures, scheduling, preparing testimony, and providing support; testifying in court when needed; conducting research on violent crimes; attending daily police briefings; notifying next-of-kin in applicable cases; and performing related duties. Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, at least one year of relevant experience, a valid driver license, and fluency in Spanish. The role is 40 hours per week with an on-call rotation; compensation ranges from $24.25 to $33.43 per hour plus language incentive pay, with generous benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Science, Psychology, Sociology, Criminal Justice, or other job-related field
- One year of experience in crisis intervention, victim assistance, law enforcement, social services, or job-related field
- Valid, lawful Driver License
- Oral and written fluency in Spanish
