Job Summary

Respond to hospitals, crime scenes, and other locations as requested by the Sheriff's Office to assist victims with crisis needs and provide emotional support. Assess safety and other needs, informing individuals of available resources while acting as a liaison to obtain services. Provide crisis intervention, educate victims on their legal rights, and assist in preparing protective orders and stalking injunctions. Attend court proceedings, coordinate transportation, and track case information to ensure timely contact and report progress. Serve as a bridge between victims, law enforcement, prosecutors, and attorneys to help families access community resources and develop safety plans. Maintain confidentiality and cooperate with all contacted agencies. Provide assistance outside regular core hours on a predetermined on-call rotation.
