Job Summary
Provide advocacy for a designated caseload of victims by researching resources, making referrals to community programs, and ensuring services align with individual needs. Collect victim information, process initial packets, and notify court services officers of hearings while maintaining statistical data for reporting. Coordinate restitution, act as a liaison between victims and the court, and investigate restitution status upon request. Facilitate one-hour Domestic Violence Information Sessions, guide program volunteers, and prepare victims for court hearings, testimonies, and trials. Notify victims of charging decisions, case progress, and upcoming procedures, attending first court appearances with Domestic Violence victims. Complete special requests from the prosecuting attorney and assist with Protection from Abuse Order petitions. Minimum of one year related experience and an Associate's degree in Criminal Justice or Social Services required.
Required Qualifications
- One (1) year of related work experience
- Associate's degree in Criminal Justice, Social Services or related field
- Johnson County Government requires reference/background screening

- One (1) year of advocate and/or case management experience
