Job Summary
Direct advocacy and support to victims of domestic and sexual violence; crisis intervention; legal advocacy; safety planning; referrals to counseling, medical and legal services; accompany victims to court and provide victim accompaniment; information and referral services; assist with protective orders and community resources; participate in program objectives and 24-hour crisis hotline; maintain documentation; on-call rotations; participate in client-awareness events; 40-hour work week with flexible non-traditional hours including Sundays and weekdays; requires a 4-year degree or equivalent experience and successful background checks; driving eligibility and ability to lift 40 lbs; office-based community outreach through BATP programs.
Required Qualifications
- Entry-level position
- Minimum of a 4-year degree or 4 years of comparable experience
- Must pass a criminal background check, motor vehicle report, and reference checks
- Must have a clean driving record/ have automobile insurance coverage and, be insurable
- No drivers under the age of 21
- No DUI, reckless driving, suspended license violations
- No more than 2 moving violations in a 3-year period for drivers over the age of 25
- No more than 1 moving violation in a 3-year period for drivers ages 21-25
- Provide proof and maintain personal automobile insurance coverage
- Ability to lift/carry/move a minimum of 40 lbs. for an extended distance
- Computer knowledge of programs including Microsoft Office Suite
- Be knowledgeable of confidentiality policies and the agency mission
