Job Summary
Monitor the HMI interface to operate equipment, adjust settings for efficient product transfer, and diagnose faults affecting facility conditions. Perform small repairs, coordinate maintenance requests, and manage wastewater systems while operating telehandlers for material handling. Assist Process Operators and fill in for Shift Leader absences, ensuring safe work environments and adherence to regulations. Complete daily shift logs, work permits, and routine field readings. This role supports VDC's goal of becoming a leading biodiesel producer in North America.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Must be able to wear standard PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, rain gear, steel toe boots), and qualify to wear a full-face respirator
- Physical ability to walk up and down stairs/ladders, work at heights, and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work rotating 12-hour shift schedules
- Able to work continuously in an environment inclusive of dust, loud noise, uneven or slippery surfaces, outdoors, heat/cold, and poorly illuminated areas
- Must adhere to Kosher practices
Desired Qualifications
- Previous telehandler, tow motor, or other lift experience
- Experience in operating Human Machine Interface (HMI)
- Experience in leadership and supervisor position
- Experience within the biodiesel or chemical industry
- Demonstrated mechanical knowledge and ability
- A working knowledge of computer software programs such as Microsoft Office and the Internet
