Job Summary
Develop and lead the US Field Medical Affairs organization by building its infrastructure, hiring and managing a high-performing team of Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs), and overseeing onboarding and training curricula. Implement field strategy aligned with clinical development and launch plans while representing the team internally and externally to support product launches and pipeline activities. Evaluate and direct all MSL activities, including research, education, and interactions with healthcare providers, and develop key performance indicators to report MSL activities to senior leadership. Provide leadership and mentoring to retain top talent, collaborate on technology and analytics systems, and create Key Opinion Leader target lists and territory maps. Requires 50% travel, 15+ years in biotech/pharma medical affairs with oncology and MSL leadership experience.
Required Qualifications
- 15+ years of experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry in Medical Affairs
- experience working with cross-functional in-house and field-based teams
- Oncology-specific experience
- Prior MSL leadership experience
- Strong interpersonal, presentation and communication skills
- demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, team-oriented environment
- Strong organizational skills and business planning, including development of a budget and adherence to targets
- Creative problem-solving skills
- Manage and adhere to Iovance policies, ensuring compliance with corporate rules and government regulations
- Ability to interact and communicate openly and effectively with Senior Management, external opinion leaders and development team members
- Experience conducting formal presentations to Senior Management and external opinion leaders
- Strong analytical skills, especially with regard to understanding and interpreting scientific and clinical research and literature
- Demonstrated self-starter and team player with strong interpersonal skills
- Adept, nimble, energetic and comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic and collaborative environment
- Capable of taking a hands-on approach and willing to roll up one's sleeves
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position standing or sitting for prolonged periods of time
- Must be able to move about inside an office and exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects
- Must have visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, viewing a computer screen, and extensive reading

Desired Qualifications
