Job Summary

Lead a comprehensive assessment and redesign of the organization's technology, data, and information systems by conducting a top-to-bottom evaluation of current functions, infrastructure, staffing, and vendor ecosystems. Engage with leaders across departments to define a multi-year roadmap for technology transformation aligned with mission and growth while establishing governance frameworks for service delivery, cybersecurity, and compliance. Oversee vendor management, procurement, and contracting processes to determine insourcing versus outsourcing strategies for infrastructure and support services. Support day-to-day IT operations, manage biannual performance reviews for the Technology department, and develop strategies for recruiting, retaining, and upskilling top talent to build a diverse, high-performing team. Transform strategic goals into actionable initiatives that secure organizational sustainability, monitor progress against annual plans, and cultivate emerging leaders across the Center.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years in IT executive leadership (CIO, CTO, or equivalent)
  • ideally with nonprofit or public sector experience
  • Demonstrated success leading both daily IT operations and long-term transformation
  • Track record of innovation and modernization in complex organizations
  • Expertise in infrastructure, systems architecture, security, and vendor management
  • Experience designing and implementing data governance frameworks that balance mission use with privacy and ethical AI/use-of-data obligations
  • Strong communication, change management, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Proven ability to build security champions across non-technical departments
  • Strategic product-minded technology leader who connects systems design to mission outcomes
  • Creating new and better ways for the organization to use technology to reach its mission
  • Comfort navigating relational, consensus-driven organizational cultures able to lead through influence and empathy
  • Skilled in change management, communication, and relationship building across technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong project management and operational execution skills, able to balance vision with follow through for their teams
  • Proven success leading teams and developing staff
  • Full time
  • Hybrid role with 2-3 days on site required
  • Midtown Manhattan
  • regular travel to various center sites
  • legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of application and throughout the duration of employment

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's degree, English major preferred
