Job Summary
Formulate client strategy and manage relationships in the Shipping and Intermodal transportation sectors, leading origination efforts and assisting with deal structuring for financing and M&A transactions. Provide direction to deal teams, coordinate with product specialists to deliver multi-product solutions, and support MDs in onboarding clients, conducting KYC, and preparing pitches. Identify sector developments, monitor opportunities, and achieve financial targets including cross-sell, ESG, and return objectives. Train junior team members and assume a deputy oversight role over deal teams. This role focuses on developing corporate and investment banking business globally for the Transport, Logistics, and Automotive sector within ING Wholesale Banking.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Math
- min 6 years of relevant experience ideally in the North American Transportation industry
- Experience in structuring and deal execution in corporate / investment banking
- Ability to train and develop junior talent
- Solid track record in origination and cross-selling other products like financial markets, DCM, M&A advisory and transaction services
- Strong analytical, presentation, leadership, and communication skills
- An effective team player with good interpersonal and communication skills
- High level of self-motivation
- Series 79/63 or, commitment to obtain within 6-month of joining
Desired Qualifications
- Expertise in corporate and structured loan origination with a special emphasis on the North American Shipping and Intermodal Transportation sectors
- Strong credit skills and understanding of debt capital markets
