Job Summary
Oversee a credit portfolio comprised of Project Finance and Leveraged Lending Loans, performing ongoing credit reviews to assign accurate ratings and monitor Problem Loans and Watch List accounts. Lead the bank group in deals where MUFG is Administrative Agent, coordinating with stakeholders including Counsel, Independent Engineers, and Tax Equity Investors. Conduct site visits and attend bank/customer meetings, while independently communicating critical account information to related parties across the bank, business line, and credit divisions. Monitor matured and maturing loans to coordinate appropriate renewals and ensure compliance with external regulatory and internal policy requirements. Work four days per week in the New York City office with one day of remote work. The selected colleague will have at least five years of project finance experience in portfolio management, with a plus in aviation finance or other structured finance.
Required Qualifications
- at least 5 years of project finance experience in portfolio management
- Relevant work experience in analyzing/supporting project finance credits in financial institutions or equivalent in credit and/or risk related function
- Sound knowledge of credit analysis and risk management
- Ability to understand and work with complex financial models to assess the borrower's repayment ability
- Strong communication skills to lead large groups of sophisticated lenders and sponsors
- An understanding of the regulatory environment in the U.S. (OCC, FRB)
- BA or BS required
Desired Qualifications
- Credit experience in aviation finance or other structured finance (securitization, leasing)
- Administrative agency and/or workout experience
- An understanding of the regulatory environment in Japan (FSA, BOJ)
- MBA preferred
