Job Summary
Vice President for L2 Application Production Support (Regional Banking) overseeing stability, availability, and performance of mission-critical global banking applications. Act as a senior escalation point coordinating with regional/global development teams and business stakeholders to ensure issue resolution, service stability, and delivery priorities. Operates in a 24x7 support model with shift work and participates in rotational on-call. Key responsibilities include incident triage and resolution, problem management (RCA and permanent fixes), change/release/deployment management, and production governance; builds automation, dashboards, and alerts to reduce manual effort; supports CI/CD pipelines; onboarding of new services and major upgrades; supports audits and regulatory communications to MAS/BNM and other regulators; maintains audit-ready documentation and production runbooks; collaborates with engineering and offshore/regional teams and communicates health and risks to senior management. Required depth includes Java/J2EE, SOAP/REST, MQ, microservices, middleware (WebSphere MQ, JBoss, MuleSoft), database troubleshooting (Oracle, Sybase, MS SQL Server), and experience with monitoring tools (Splunk, Dynatrace, Geneos) and real-time incident response in a banking environment.
Required Qualifications
- 8–12 years of hands-on experience in L2/L3 Application Production Support within banking or financial services
- Strong experience supporting Corporate Regional Banking applications with knowledge of regional and global payment products and clearing systems (NEFT, RTGS, SWIFT, ACH, cross-border payments)
- Experience managing regional regulatory requirements and communications with regulators and senior stakeholders
- Hands-on experience with Incident, Problem, Change, Release, and Deployment Management
- Monitoring/observability tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, Geneos
- CI/CD and automated release/deployment toolsets
- Java/J2EE (Core Java, Web Services), SOAP/REST
- Middleware platforms (IBM WebSphere MQ, JBoss, MuleSoft)
- Certificate management for secure connectivity in banking environments
- Unix and Windows OS with scripting
- Databases (Oracle, Sybase, MS SQL Server, SQL) for production troubleshooting
- Experience handling real-time production incidents and high-severity outages
- Excellent written and verbal communication with senior stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and within global teams
- Willingness to participate in rotational shift, on-call, weekend, and public holiday support
