Job Summary
Own, design, and manage the end-to-end lifecycle of data products and platforms for BNY Pershing's Wealth Services Data Group. Drive vision and strategy for party and account reference data, reporting, and securities data while defining roadmaps aligned with business goals. Manage the product backlog, write specs, and negotiate trade-offs to ensure high-quality delivery across development teams. Champion technical delivery by integrating with cloud platforms, data warehouses, and analytics solutions, while embedding data governance, privacy, and security standards into every feature. Define measurement instrumentation to analyze post-launch results and assess existing UX to recommend improvements. Prioritize tasks, foster cross-functional collaboration, and escalate issues as necessary to empower financial advisors and institutional clients.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in product ownership
- 3+ years of experience in financial services industry
- Strategic mindset with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions
- Proficiency in data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Azure, AWS), data pipelines, and cloud technologies
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, SQL, or equivalent for data manipulation and analysis
- Understanding of data governance, privacy, and industry best practices in financial services
- Experience with agile methodologies, product management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence), and data visualization platforms
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
- Curiosity and drive for continuous learning and improvement
- Possesses a 'get-it-done' attitude – ability to get around roadblocks and stay focused on the vision
- Organized, resourceful, and able to prioritize tasks
- Interested in constantly learning new tools and technologies and a passion to share your knowledge with the team
