Job Summary
Lead the manufacturing and operational side of Oberland Agriscience's production environment by overseeing production planning, scheduling, and post-harvest processing activities including drying, pelletizing, and packaging. Manage staffing, training, and performance while staying visible and connected to frontline employees across the Halifax-based facility. Coordinate cross-functionally with Quality Assurance, R&D, Sales, Purchasing, Logistics, and Farm Management to ensure production runs safely, efficiently, and in line with customer needs. Identify and implement practical solutions to improve safety, quality, efficiency, and cost control within this growing agriscience organization.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in manufacturing, production, operations management, or a related field
- Strong plant or operations leadership experience
- Experience with production planning, scheduling, and resource management
- Strong understanding of safety, quality, regulatory requirements, and operational performance
- Strong people leadership, coaching, and communication skills
- A hands-on leadership style with the ability to connect with frontline teams
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy production environment
- Post-secondary education in Business, Science, Operations Management, Engineering, Agriculture, or a related field
- Candidates must be located in Canada
- Candidates must be legally eligible to work on a permanent basis
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in food manufacturing, agriculture, pharmaceutical, or another regulated production environment
- Experience working in a unionized environment
