Job Summary
Oversee and administer various grant programs deployed throughout New York State, providing high-level direction and hands-on support for the Office of Community Renewal's state-funded areas. Direct research and procedural realignment to promote consistency and operational efficiency while participating in program development, improvement, and implementation. Provide guidance to grant program directors and lead program activities, including long-term projects for administrative and technical improvements. Collaborate with government, private, and non-profit partners to deliver program improvements and formulate new policies across agency departments. Provide technical assistance to eligible applicants and awardees regarding program regulations and funding processes. Review and score program-related applications, manage award notifications, and handle other grant administration activities. Prepare professional and technical writing for policy memos, reports, and presentations. Attend and conduct presentations for meetings, conferences, and workshops, occasionally traveling throughout the year. Supervise staff members as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
- four years of specialized experience

- Advanced skills with Excel & Word
- Ability to adapt quickly to solve problems and overcome roadblocks
- Demonstrated interest in the relationship between housing development and community revitalization
- Understanding of how to work effectively in and with diverse communities
- Demonstrated experience working independently and exercising good judgment without constant supervision
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with attention to detail and professionalism in all communications
- Well organized and self-motivated with ability to work under pressure, while prioritizing and managing multiple tasks and projects
