Job Summary
Develop the enterprise technology roadmap across Larson and provide research, recommendations, and strategic input to the Executive Leadership Team. Evaluate emerging technologies, personally test or pilot platforms, and facilitate AI infrastructure and governance strategy while partnering with business units. Lead technology standards across all affiliates, meeting regularly with affiliate presidents to audit progress and ensure consistent security protocols. Facilitate technology due diligence and integration for mergers and acquisitions, standardizing systems as new offices come online. Manage the IT budget, oversee vendor relationships, and step in as an individual contributor on high-priority technical projects. Ensure compliance with SEC, FINRA, and frameworks like NIST and CIS Controls. This role serves as a technology advisor to the Executive Leadership Team within a multi-affiliate financial services organization.
Required Qualifications
- Experience leading technology through M&A integration
- Financial services or RIA experience
- Knowledge of SEC, FINRA, and applicable privacy and cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, CIS Controls)
- Ability to lead technology strategy at a senior level
- Ability to set direction for a multi-affiliate technology function
- Ability to read the moment when personal execution is needed
- Ability to test a new tool, dig into a hard problem alongside the team, or step in when speed matters more than delegation
- Ability to directly manage the Director of IT
- Ability to maintain visibility into each affiliate's technology needs and performance
- Ability to evaluate technology decisions across affiliates holistically
- Ability to ensure consistent infrastructure, security, and systems standards across the affiliate structure
- Ability to facilitate technology due diligence, planning, and integration for all mergers and acquisitions
- Ability to lead the technical assessment of prospective acquisitions
- Ability to build integration plans that minimize disruption to employees and clients
- Ability to standardize systems and security controls as new offices and affiliates come online
- Ability to facilitate the firm's cybersecurity program
- Ability to monitor, incident response, disaster recovery, and employee awareness
- Ability to partner with compliance and legal on audits and regulatory exams
- Ability to personally lead or contribute to key technical projects
- Ability to stay closely involved with core enterprise platforms (CRM, financial planning, portfolio management, document management)
- Ability to step in as an individual contributor on high-priority or high-complexity issues
- Ability to partner closely with the AI, Data and CRM functions
- Ability to develop and manage the IT budget and capital planning
- Ability to facilitate strategic vendor relationships and contract negotiations
- Ability to support the development of the Director of IT and the broader technology team
