Vice President of Hardware Development

Job Summary

Lead global engineering teams to drive end-to-end hardware development, encompassing architecture, design, validation, manufacturing readiness, and lifecycle management for enterprise platforms and intelligent peripherals. Architect and lead the proprietary TCxSky OS leveraging Linux foundations, while establishing cloud-based system management capabilities for remote provisioning, telemetry, and lifecycle automation. Manage geographically distributed organizations across the United States, Taiwan, and Guadalajara, Mexico, and oversee strategic OEM/ODM and manufacturing partner relationships. Resolve complex technical escalations with strategic customers and foster engineering excellence through innovation in AI, edge computing, and intelligent device technologies. Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Software, Manufacturing, and Sales to ensure successful product delivery.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
  • 15+ years of OEM/ODM hardware development experience
  • Proven experience leading global hardware engineering organizations
  • Deep technical expertise in: Enterprise hardware platforms, Embedded systems, Linux-based operating systems, Intelligent peripherals, Cloud-connected device management, Edge computing technologies
  • Proven success leading development organizations across the United States, Taiwan, and Guadalajara, Mexico
  • Strong experience bringing hardware products from concept through manufacturing and production scale
  • Experience leading executive-level customer engagements and technical escalations
  • Strong understanding of global manufacturing, supply chain, and operational scalability
  • Demonstrated ability to drive innovation using AI-enabled engineering and operational practices
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's degree
  • Experience in retail technology, POS systems, self-service platforms, or enterprise edge computing
  • Experience with cloud-native deployment and device management architectures
  • Familiarity with AI-enabled devices, computer vision, IoT ecosystems, and intelligent automation technologies
