Job Summary
Oversee strategic financial operations by preparing the association budget, forecasting financial outlooks, and implementing cost-effective systems. Lead management-level staff through recruitment, training, and performance evaluations while ensuring quality and timeliness of department activities. Collaborate closely with the CEO and executive leadership to establish strategic direction, manage capital campaigns, and drive long-term financial health. Provide final oversight for financial audits, Form 990 preparation, and federal award compliance, acting as the primary liaison to the Board of Directors. Maintain rigorous internal controls and reporting standards aligned with the YWCA's anti-racist, feminist, and trauma-responsive mission.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Business Administration or other industry-related field
- CPA credentials
- A minimum of ten years of industry related experience
- five years in upper management
- two years in a nonprofit setting
- Must pass criminal, child abuse and neglect, and sex offender background checks
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software packages
- demonstrated high-level fluency in financial accounting systems
- Knowledge and understanding of the federal Uniform Guidance (CFR 2, Part 200)
- Extensive knowledge of the principles, procedures, and best practices in the industry
- Understanding of cost accounting and fund accounting, including net asset classification
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Ability to manage priorities and workflow
- Ability to develop rapport with people of all levels in the organization
- Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints
- Commitment to excellence, high standards and the mission of the organization
- Demonstrated experience in successfully working with executive leadership, a board of directors and committees in a nonprofit setting
- Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure in situations that require teamwork
- Demonstrated highly effective oral and written communication and organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds
- Clear understanding of the role of power between finance and other departments
- demonstrated capacity to approach finance through an explicitly anti-racist, feminist, and trauma-responsive lens
