Job Summary
Vice President of Development will provide vision, leadership, and management of all fundraising for Housing Works and Bailey House. Responsible for growing charitable giving via direct mail, major gifts, events, campaigns, and donor stewardship while overseeing a team of fundraising professionals. Collaborates with Executive Management, COO, CEO/President, and Board to attract, retain, and steward major donors ($10K+) and to expand annual giving by 20% over three years. Sets up donor recognition programs, trains leaders and staff, ensures data efficacy with Salesforce/Raiser’s Edge, maintains major donor prospects, and coordinates rapid-response fundraising opportunities. Leads development and innovation, participates in budgets, and serves as an external ambassador for charitable giving. Requires BA/BS, Master’s degree preferred, at least ten years of leadership in non-profit development, and willingness to travel; onsite work 80% of the time; ability to attend evening and weekend events.
Required Qualifications
- BA/BS required
- Master's degree preferred
- At least ten years of proven leadership experience in non-profit development
- Strong experience with major gifts, annual giving, donor stewardship, events, campaigns, and corporate sponsorships
- Experience managing and developing fundraising staff, consultants, and volunteer leadership
- Experience working with Boards of Directors, senior staff, donors, corporate sponsors, and community partners
- Ability to travel to appointments, meetings, conferences, donor meetings, and fundraising events
- Work Type: Onsite; staff presence in program office minimum 80% of the time
- Vaccination requirement for staff in Health Services division (COVID-19) unless legally accommodated
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; public speaking
