Job Summary
Lead all accounting, financial controllership, and reporting activities across a multi-site commercial fleet services platform, overseeing general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, cash management, and inventory. Drive the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes while preparing GAAP-compliant consolidated financial statements and managing balance sheet reconciliations. Establish internal controls, accounting policies, and scalable financial procedures, then partner with operational leadership to enhance shop-level performance visibility and support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Manage ERP system implementation and integration for acquisitions, ensuring onboarding of new businesses into the platform's financial infrastructure. Build and mentor the finance team while providing direct decision support to the CEO and CFO on growth and strategic initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA designation
- 8+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, with increasing levels of responsibility
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
- Experience managing month-end close, consolidations, and multi-entity accounting environments
- Proficiency with NetSuite or similar ERP systems
- Strong understanding of operational accounting in a multi-location services business
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capability to communicate financial concepts clearly across all levels of the organization
- Proven leadership experience managing and mentoring accounting teams
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and evolving environment
- High attention to detail with strong ownership mentality and execution skills
- Willingness to be hands-on and deeply involved in day-to-day operations while helping build scalable infrastructure for future growth
- Grand Rapids, MI base
